Marine Parade, Preston this morning a count of 26 Turnstone, one tag rung bird with the ring ending in the figures 32, two Oyster Catcher, reasonable numbers of both Herring and Black Headed Gulls.
During a visit to the zoo heard alarms calls from both Jay and Magpies on looking saw that a juvenile female Sparrow Hawk had taken a Jay in the middle of the main path way, the Magpies were mobbing and scolding and the approach of people resulted in the Jay making good its escape.
