12 members of DB attended the morning walk and 20 later sat down to a Christmas lunch. The parklands produced a count of 34 species (thanks to Sue Murphy for keeping the list). The banks of the River Tale produced sightings of a Dipper and Chiffchaff. Winter Thrushes (mainly Redwing with a few Fieldfare) were more difficult to locate as most were feeding on the ground and had vacated the usual hot spots in the Millennium Orchard. A Mistle Thrush and singing Song Thrush completed the Thrush list with numbers of Blackbird ever present.
Next East Devon Branch fieldtrip will meet at Darts Farm on Jan 6. (See details of Programme on DB website under 'News'). Happy Christmas to all members.
