I always stop at the bridge before the field to the reserve to see if a Kingfisher might be on the river, and frequently, one will zoom up or downstream. This morning I was treated to a Dipper - singing! Then looking south I could see an adult female Marsh Harrier over the reed-bed just beyond the reserve. A good number of Meadow Pipits are also now present - 18 the highest count so far. When I got to the east (Chivenor) side of the reserve I was surprised to see 2 of the Spoonbills roosting on the scrape.
However, a sure sign of Spring (Shorely shome mishtake!) was a Primrose in flower!
