South Efford Marsh, Aveton Gifford, first visit for some time and rather disappointing results, the marsh is dry and looks as if it has been for some time resulting in virtually no bird life other than a couple of Shell duck and three Pied Wagtails, on the hedge margins Linnet, Chiffchaff, Great Tit and Wren.
On the river mud flats two Common Sandpiper, reasonable numbers of Little Egret, two greater Black Backed Gulls, almost constant movement of Swallows and House Martins with a count of 15 Swifts.
South Brent SWWA treatment works area gave good views of four male Blackcaps singing and two hens. Two Wren, Chiffchaff seen and heard calling, one Willow Warbler, Dunnock, Long Tailed Tits, and two House Martins.
