In answer (partly) to Paul's post re Wood Warbler at Yarner - I've seen a red-ringed WW there too in 2014, apparently it is part of a long-term study of Wood Warblers at this site.
Velator today: I took a small group around the reserve this morning, they had originally asked about ringing, and I was able to open just one net (too windy for much else) and trapped a few birds to show them the process. I'm glad I did, 2 Blackcaps, 2 Willow Warblers, the first Reed Warbler of the year, and 3 Sedge Warblers, one of which had a French ring on - this is the third French-ringed bird I've trapped in the last week or so.
Common Sandpiper on the scrape just outside the reserve, this morning and this evening where there were also 12 Pied and 2 White Wagtails there.
