Afternoon inspection of the reserve in poor conditions this afternoon. No sign of the pair of Little Grebes I saw yesterday, but most of the action was in the field surrounding the reserve. A large flock of Gulls was mostly Black-headed, but several Herring, a single Great Black-back, and 20+ Common Gulls. 3 Canada Geese, including probably, the pair that has been prospecting in the reserve of late. The flood/scrape had 12 Pied Wagtails, a few Teal and Shoveler (12 yesterday) a Little Egret, and 3 Spoonbills, which I saw at 2.40, but they were gone a few minutes later. The Finches are still draining the feeders of black sunflower seeds at an alarming rate!
